In my mid-forties I decided it was time to start doing strength training in addition to aerobic training that I always had done independently.  I joined a gym and was signed up by Joyce.  My very first interaction with Joyce was a pleasure.  Plain and simply I told Joyce to cut out the hoopla about showing prospective gym customers around and just sign me up.  To my delight, she did!  Now ten pounds lighter, Joyce has made a big difference.  Whereas before I was barely able to complete one push-up in good form, I now do ten of them.  Joyce is modest and understated about her knowledge base and achievements.  Not only was Joyce a RN, she also was a licensed massage therapist and personal trainer.  All this knowledge and all these qualifications help make Joyce a perfect personal trainer for with two torn menisci I need somebody who understands what my body needs and how to avoid what my body does not need.  I can and hereby do recommend Joyce highly.

 Tony has been training me for over 3 years now and what a change my body and spirit have gone through. I had come out of a very serious accident when we began and I could hardly move. In addition, I had gained 20 pounds. Tony's patience and excellent training skills have brought me back to the shape I was in prior to my accident. I am now running on the treadmill (I didn't even do this before!) and we keep increasing the intensity of my work out. I have dropped 3 pants sizes since we began. We work out diligently twice a week and he's always on time and extremely professional. Oh and did I mention what a great sense of humor he has.   Master Trainer Joyce VanSeters is the best personal trainer I have ever had in my entire life.  I started working out with Joyce 3 years ago.  I am a demanding high maintenance client with an extensive understanding of the body and my physical training needs.

 

Joyce is my trainer because her knowledge, ability, techniques, skill, repertoire, energy, and motivation are exceptional.  Many personal trainers only get certifications as a requirement to work at certain gyms. Joyce incorporates every new thing she learns into your workout.  I especially benefit from her vast knowledge of core training, yoga, Pilates, and plyometrics.

 

Joyce participates in a variety of fitness challenges from martial arts, fitness competitions, running races, competitive dancing, cycling, triathlons, etc.  If you have a sport she can help you with it.  I regularly participate in running & cycling events and just completed my first triathlon, thanks to Joyce.

 

Joyce’s experience as a registered nurse helps me deal with sports injuries and enables me to continue training while recuperating.  I was prone to lower leg injuries from running races, until Joyce developed a strengthening regimen specifically for my running activity.

 

Her abilities as a certified massage therapist keep me limber and flexible. She has a great post workout stretch routine.  Joyce’s military school background enables her to be an effective drill sergeant when I start slacking.

 

Joyce also understands the psychological and emotional component of being healthy, eating right, and maintaining an exercise schedule.  She is both a personal trainer and a therapist/counselor.

 

As a superb nutritional advisor, Joyce will set you up on a diet tailored to your fitness goals.  She can help you lean out or bulk up, increase your cardio and endurance, or simply work on your overall fitness and strengthen your core.

 

If you train with Joyce it won’t be like some New Year’s resolution destined to fail in a few months.  Joyce is a new lifestyle.

I have been training with Joyce for a little less than a year. Initially, I worked out for a half hour once a week.  I am now training with Joyce twice a week for one hour at a time.  My strength and endurance have increased.  I began running in May and completed my first 5K.  Joyce always motivates me to challenge myself and encourages me to strive for my goals, which now include completing a 10K and a biatholon.  I  never considered myself to be athletic and now view exercise as an enjoyable activity.

I started training with Joyce in Nov of 07 after having my first child and met with her a handful of times. Every time I worked out with Joyce I felt a sense of adrenaline as she knew how to push me to my maximum capability and motivate me at the same time. She also worked around a wrist injury that I had from holding a newborn with variations to form and I began to shed the extra baby weight with no excuses. After a few months off of personal training I felt my regimen wasn’t where I wanted it to be as I needed to find the time to fit it back into my life. So back in the beginning of May I began to consistently train with Joyce early mornings or during my lunch breaks, times that I would usually find an excuse not to work out on my own. Since then I have gotten my pre-pregnancy figure back and feel more confident about my body. I feel a sense of my old self back which after having a child and working full-time is hard to believe possible!

Joyce kicks some serious ass.  I have  worked out for years and have always been involved in some sort of athletic activity. I was also the fat kid growing up and have dealt with body image issues. So, it truly takes  someone with a spirited mind and a strong soul to challenge me and make me feel empowered.  Joyce does just that.  I feel like I can move mountains after an hour with Joyce.  I feel like singing "I am woman hear me roar" .  Training with Joyce has always been the best start to my week.  I could never imagine not having the challenge that she gives me to make me feel young, strong, fit and the ability to look at myself and say "I rock!"

I met Joyce five years ago.  In my late forties, I had never worked out regularly or belonged to a gym.  Joyce taught Strength Training which quickly became my favorite class.  I wanted to train with her then but our schedules clashed.  I was finally able to begin training with Joyce last summer and our sessions are even better than I had hoped.

My goals in training are to improve my posture and achieve overall fitness.  With her background as a nurse as well as trainer, Joyce designs workouts that are challenging but never push me beyond what my body can do.  No two sessions are the same as Joyce draws from her mental exercise catalogue to capture my interest each week.  Joyce’s knowledge of physiology enables her to answer my questions about which muscles I am working as well as general health and nutrition questions.  

Thanks to Joyce’s guidance, I am in the best shape of my adult life.  I have lost the 15 lbs I had gained over the last few years and greatly improved my strength.  There are exercises that I can do now that I couldn’t do when I was in my twenties or after I began working out even last year before Joyce started training me.  

There are many evenings when I am Joyce’s tenth client of the day, but I would never know it.  Joyce always greets me with a friendly smile and treats me as if I were her first client of the day.  She is always encouraging and praises my efforts enough to make me want to work harder each week.  I leave our sessions sweaty, but with a feeling of accomplishment- that great endorphin high.
